Hard to believe that in just a short time I will be living in another country, another continent for that matter. I have been accomplishing my "To Do" list like it's my second job. Aside from filing taxes and packing, most everything is all finished.
Two weeks from today will be my last day at the Hyatt. My last day until I return atleast! Never have I worked for such a company who treats us well and worked alongside such talented and professional employees. Definitely looking forward to working at the Hyatt again in the future.
I will be arriving in Innsbruck at noon on February 25th. From there I will not be able to move into my apartment until March 1. I will be staying in a hostel for those few nights and setting up my phone service, bank account, etc during those first few days. Speaking of phone service, I just bought an iPhone so that I will be able to use it abroad. I found a company where I will have internet, unlimited texts, and calls for a very cheap monthly rate. As far as international calling goes, rarely will I be doing that. There are plenty of ways to contact me however. Email, Facbook, Skype (Coasterfrk11), and even by texting me. Through an ap on the iPhone I have acquired another phone number exclusively for texting: 1-321-775-5151. I assure you there will be no outrageous charge. It will be just as if you are texting a US phone number. I can also text back through the internet. If you want to research the iPhone ap to verify, it is called TextFree.
I will be studying at the Mangement Center of Innsbruck. Classes begin for me on March 2nd, starting with orientation the first week. I'm really looking forward to all of the classes I will be taking (in English!). My classes will be the following: Product Development and Innovation, International Tourism Management, International Tourism and Leisure Market,s Destination Management, International Marketing, Alpine Tourism, and Understanding Austrian Society and Culture. No idea what my schedule will be like, but I can assure you in my free time I will be traveling around Europe!
MCI Campus
Ahh! I cannot wait!
ReplyDeleteSoo I think I am going to get an iphone too. My plan is up right before I leave so it works out perfect. how did you get really cheap internet service? and are you doing it through a company abroad or through att?
ReplyDeleteMegan- I don't have a contract through AT&T. I just bought an iPhone unlocked and jailbroken so all we have to do is buy a SIM card through a specific company abroad (Bob or Orange I would suggest), and we will be able use an iPhone at a cheap monthly rate. I'll talk to you soon also, but I'm definitely up for sharing a hostel the first few nights!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I am going to email Johanna, our buddy, to see if she has any recommendations for us.
ReplyDeleteAnd how do you know all of these things? You are already like an Austrian Study Abroad Encyclopedia.
Okay perfect Megan. I was going to contact her shortly as well, just haven't gotten around to it. If we share a room, I'm sure the rate will be very cheap split two ways.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I just found out there is an Ikea in Innsbruck as well, fairly close to where I will be living. Guess I don't need to pack as much after all!
Honestly can NOT wait! How is it already nearly February!
Ugh ya! And Ikea is right next to H&M! lol
ReplyDeleteSo I emailed Johanna. She recommended this place:
http://www.nepomuks.at/hostel-innsbruck.html
and I think it looks great. For the two person room "Karl" it is 27 Euro for each of us.
But to make a reservation we have to call them, in Austria. I think I am going to buy a calling card soon so I will call them asap.
Perfect. I'm definitely up for that hostel. Let me know if you need anything from me.
ReplyDeleteAnd Ikea & H&M, I think we will fit in perfectly!
