Spring has sprung in Innsbruck

April 24-28
School week:
Back in Innsbruck for once. Getting everything in my life all organized again. Papers, studying, planning trips, getting graduation figured out, hanging with friends, etc!

After a full day in class, while riding my bike home, I spontaneously decided to shop at the supermarket; Hoffer. Didn't have a shopping basket so I had my book bag and all these fruits and veggies in my hands, balancing it like an art. Well I then smelled some body wash which then got on my nose. A lady with a giant floor cleaning machine was going by, made me move, causing me to drop my strawberries which went everywhere. Hilarious!

View from my favorite cafe

Lisa is apparently hard of hearing... "I booked my flight" "You broke your fly?!?"

I booked my flight back to the USA. July 20th! In time for Chrissy's wedding!! Then flying to Florida August 2nd in time for my graduation!!

I've been working out a lot and eating super healthy again. About time, since being in Europe I haven't worked out as often as I normally would or eat as healthy (the chocolate, sweets, and all this delicious food is far too tempting).

It's been great getting to spend time with friends from Innsbruck and seeing more of the city.
Pierre losing at Jenga!

April 30:

I spent an entire day just exploring Innsbruck, walking around, seeing things I've wanted to see!

Random park
Framed!
Tram Stop
Austrians love their beach bars!
Went to dinner with Johannna and Nathan! So great to catch up since I'm actually in Innsbruck!

May 1st:

Hiking with Keri!!! All the others were hangover or wanted to stay in bed. We just wanted to go for a nice Sunday hike. Turns out we are a bit too motivated apparently!
Does this look like hiking?
I think not!

You can faintly see our destination; white building!

Overlooking Innsbruck
Other hikers
 Up up and up!

We made it to the top! After quick changing weather conditions!

Spinat Knodel
After a much needed lunch and warmth, we relaxed for quite a bit. Was this as far up as we would go? I think not! The motivator inside me said we will go higher!

Not cold at all

Loving it!

Hafelekarspitze:

2269 meters!
Keri and  I on top of the mountain!!

Back inside for delicious hot chocolate and tea before our descent!
So overall, pretty much amazing! We had no intention of doing this, but why not! We had no other plans that Sunday! Keri and I always have great adventures together!

Back down in the city, hungry again so we went to Cafe Central and then home for some much needed sleep!

May 3:
Okay so let me be honest, I would have gotten a haircut about three to four weeks ago, but it's a daunting task. One of those things you need to do, but just really don't want to. Well today is the day. Getting a haircut and trying to explain in English... I can just imagine leaving thinking this is the worst haircut of my entire life, maybe I'll end up with a chili bowl or a mullet! Haha. Here goes nothing!!

Phew, wasn't so bad at all! The girl cutting my hair was nice and spoke just enough English that it wasn't so intimidating. A bit short, but I'm happy with it!

Getting a few errands done after and going hiking again tomorrow!

Chai Tea at a wanna be Starbucks
Went to Galway pub to watch the futbol match with everyone, extremely crowded but saw a million people I knew!

Ended the night with a smoothies and bruschetta with Keri and Jen. Literally sprinted to the bus so I wouldn't miss the nightliner. Made it though!

4 May:

Went hiking again today!

Met Keri, Jen, and Nathan at the beach bar after!

Enjoying the sun
After, we decided to make plans which turned out to be an extremely fun evening.
Rocking our shades
Silly face!
The infamous bus ride! Japanika and Asianiko!
Lisa, Pierre, and I @ La Copa

Jen, Keri, Nathan, and I

Cinco de mayo:
Went running up in the mountains, took some photos along the way!

That evening we had a cooking party at Panaroma with a lot of my favorite people here! Homemade guacamole!! Didn't eat dinner because I was too full! Keri and I eventually shared half a tortilla though, haha!

May 6:

Another bike ride!
Spring time!

Rode my bike so much yesterday. Into town twice. You'd be happy to know that my bike now has a name. Florian Fahradd. You can call him Flo. Fahradd is German for bicycle.

Hofgarden

Picnic!

Blumen
Emily had told me about a Christian concert happening in the city tonight, she didn't know much detail, but I told her I was interested. Later that evening, she texted me and from the time I got that text, I took a quick shower, got ready, and left my dorm in 10 minutes and didn't want to wait 5 minutes on the bus so "Flo" and I cycled into town extremely quickly! Was amazing and felt like a Thursday night church service in Orlando! During the service, I looked at Emily and said "I'm really hungry." We look to our right and they brought out a giant box of pretzels! I looked up and said "Thank you God!"
The band!

Out to find food, unsuccessful. Healthy food that is. Nein.

Walked from a restaurant with Keri. Crazyyyy girl in her twenties was screaming, blood everywhere, broke glass, couldn't get out out this apartment building that had two exit doors. People there already called the police and ambulance. Keep in mind we are in a foreign country with a different language, Keri is so confused an concerned (as am I) and she just screams, "What is going on!!" Hilarious. We don't know what her problem was and why she wanted out so badly and why she didn't have the keys to exit. It was a scene out of a movie and gave me nightmares that night! We think she may have been on drugs and just freaked out. She literally broke through the top glass on the door and did a somersault through the top and landed on her back getting through that door. The next door was like a jail with bars so she tried to squeeze through unsuccessfully. It's hard to explain exactly what happened and imagine what was going on. The lady upstairs in the apartment wouldn't open the door to let the girl out and the alarm was going off the entire time. Eventually the police and ambulance showed up and the lady opened the door and she went into the ambulance. Insanity!!

May 7:
Another gorgeous day here!

Rode my bike into town to chill with Nathan and eat some lunch and enjoy the weather.

Food buffet on the rocks down by the Inn
Flo's first bus ride. I had to rush home to get ready for the race!

10k race tonight at six!

Beyond a fun race!! Nathan and I had blast! Keri, Emily and Jen all ran the 5k! We were on a team that they got involved with from school! Lots of fun!

Team photo!

Our fake starting line!
The real starting line!
Ready to run!

Yes I took photos while running!

Someone is getting tired!

After the race, we decided to do a spontaneous trip to Kufstein tonight with Nathan and Keri to hang out with Tom! It's a small town an hour outside of Innsbruck on the way to Salzburg. I pretty much had thirty minutes to run home, shower, pack, and catch our train that left!
Off to Kufstein!

At the castle in Kufstein!
We all have given each other nicknames within our gang;
Negotiator Nathan
Krazy Keri

Motivator Matt
We are still working on a name for Thomas. We came up with a great name, but forgot it. Any suggestions? Tall Tom? Haha!

Krazy Keri at her best!
We went to a club that night to see what the nightlife and people of Kufstein were like! Basically it was all house music that every single song sounded different, right Keri!? We got very excited when there were five lyrics in one song!
Keri's best friend who stole her seat and then managed to fall asleep while smoking a cigarette and burnt a hole in his brother's jeans!

The Gang!

Kufstein @ Night!
A fun night!

8 May:
Went hiking.

The castle during the day!

Beginning our hike!
First lake on our hike!

The gang!

Being silly

Tom is not strong at all...

Gorgeous

At another lake!

Hysterical! Keri was worried about going down this section because we didn't exactly where hiking shoes. Tom just picked her up and carried her!! Haha!

Waterfall where we filled up our water bottle!

Took the train home and back in Innsbruck around six that evening.

I took the bus from the train station back to the apartment as normal. Bus ride to remember, insanity. We were nearly halfway home, when a scooter/moped flew through the intersection causing the bus to SLAM on the brakes to avoid missing it. As a result, everyone standing up and even some sitting in seats, (children, teens, elderly) all flew forward, hit the bus poles, fell on the ground, landed on top of each other. It was CRAZY! I couldn't believe what I had just seen. And then to top it off, everyone got up, was all shook up and the bus driver obviously had to get out of the intersection so he pulled up a bit and moved over on the road, something else abrupt happening causing him to SLAM on the brakes again. Exact same thing happened. Everyone fell down again. Then everyone started freaking out. Literally. Kids were bauling, parents shouting (all in German of course!), people were like hyperventilating and shaking. I was just looking around trying to take everything in. I couldn't believe what had happened. Thankfully I was sitting down and only hit the plastic in front of me, not bad at all. Although there have been times when this could have been 100% worse. It wasn't as crowded as it normally was, and someone could have gotten seriously injured. Although quite a few people did get hurt. They all started screaming and wanted off the bus immediately. While I was absorbing the situation, someone tapped me on my shoulder and it was Greta whoe lives in my apartment. She speaks German so she was telling me what everyone was saying. They were cussing at the bus drive and saying I'm going to call the police, let me out, let me out! It was crazy! I felt so bad for the bus driver though, he turned white and was all shook up. It wasn't his fault a moped flew through the intersection. I think the fact that he had to slam on his brakes twice was the reason everyone was so upset. Anyhow, after about ten minutes, we got off the bus and since it was Sunday the busses don't run as frequently. Greta and I ended up walking 20 minutes home and beat all the busses!

Once I got home, I began studying all night!

My professor from UCF will be teaching my class Product Development and Innovation here in Innsbruck tomorrow!

9 May:

Just as expected, an amazing class!!! Professor Milman is hilarious! We talkeda bout Starbucks, cruises, theme parks, airlines. Was this class designed for me? All the students loved him as well and thought my school looked great (He showed pictures of Rosen!)

10 May:
Studied all day with friends from school.

Two exams tomorrow!

11 May:
Two exams. 8:00 a.m and 11:30 a.m.

Both went fairly well. Not easy, not impossible. We shall see the results sometime!

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my mom and aunt on Friday!!!Have a few things planned here in Innsbruck and then off to Venice, Trapani Sicily, and Munich Germany! I know for a fact it will be a good time and unforgettable trip!
